George E. Brown III

Prior to forming Timelines in 1993, George Brown generated promotional materials, as well as published articles in numerous business and trade magazines, for Renizon Corporation, a golf course consulting and management company in Denver, Colo. From 1989–91, he was membership director for Colorado World of Golf, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the business of Colorado golf and its related industries. He has also been published in local and national golf journals, including The Country Club, Minnesota Golfer, Executive Golfer and PGA Magazine. He earned a master of science degree in advertising from the University of Denver in 1988, after attaining a bachelor of arts degree in English from Colorado College in Colorado Springs in 1984. He and his daughter reside in Denver.

Book Project Team

A successful commemorative history requires that the project team works as a cohesive unit—one dedicated to meeting deadlines and honoring budgets. Timelines collaborates with a team of independent contractors who have more than 95 years of combined publishing experience. Because a 50th or 100th anniversary comes along only once, it’s imperative that the project is managed and coordinated effectively.

George Brown conducts all primary and secondary research, including oral histories, archival photo inventories, as well as coordinating the acquisition of and/or capturing of new images. He then weaves together the stories, photos and anecdotes into a meaningful history of that particular organization. Additionally, Mr. Brown manages all facets of the production process, including graphic design, layout, printing, binding and shipping, a process that is painless and essentially invisible to the client. We spare you the worry and headache associated with this intricate and time-consuming process. And because Mr. Brown is personally involved in all aspects of development, quality is ensured.

A creative graphic design team is vital to a commemorative book’s overall appearance and feel. Award-winning designers Mark Mulvany and Tim George bring more than 60 years of design experience to each book project. Their expertise includes design and layout, art direction, typography, print production and press checks.

Tamara Chapman, who has served as a senior editor and editorial manager at the University of Denver since 1998, brings a passion for precise prose to the project team. In her three decades of work as an editor, she has overseen the editorial content of annual reports, commemorative books, general-interest and specialty magazines, newsletters and training manuals.

The Timelines Difference

Timelines founder George Brown and his team work collaboratively with clients to produce first-class, commemorative histories that preserve an organization’s traditions and heritage. By providing an outside, independent perspective, Timelines ensures that its clients receive an unbiased and balanced final product—a worthy legacy for future generations.

Timelines brings publishing expertise, high quality, personalized service and attention to detail to this highly personal undertaking. Mr. Brown has extensive experience working with private clubs. He understands and appreciates – from first hand experience – the culture of pride and tradition that characterizes private clubs.

The Timelines team takes great pride in creating visually appealing customized, commemorative books that are delivered on time and on budget. We are acutely aware that each client has budgetary constraints that must be adhered to. In that regard, we work diligently to create attractive commemorative histories, large or small, that meet a client’s objectives while staying within the framework of its financial means. At the end of the day, the Timelines team tailors each book to fit the diverse needs of its clientele.

At Timelines, personalized attention, impeccable service and an emphasis on a client’s needs are of utmost importance.
